From the very beginning of this CD to it's end, it is something special. A real classic! It begins
with bell tones with their roundness of sound that reflects the roundness of the sky. From there
you get the feeling the sky is beginning to open up, and with
Emergence,
the songs of frogs
begin. These frogs were recorded up on a high mountain pond in Yosemite, and they accompany
the rest of the music on the CD. These tracks move seamlessly from one to another, and with the
track
Earth And Air
, The beauty of it all comes rushing in! And in the end you really feel the sky
is pulling you home. Highly recommended!

This fine work takes you high up into the clouds, yet still keeps you in touch with the Earth. Carty
brings his usual warmth and originality to this meditation on the soaring and radiant beauties of the
deep sky, adding some innovative sounds from his deeper pallette to the mix, including didgeridoo
on track 5. The tracks run together on this album, but also work separetely. Crickets (or are they
frogs?) appear about half way through and continue chirping away after the music ends.

"Cloud Pull" is another multi-dimensional, multi-faceted CD from the multi-talented Robert Carty.
Robert uses the synth, the dig, the shakers and samples to create this wall of ambience. Robert is
at his ambient zenith in 1999. His three releases are showcases for his ambient originality. His
proliferation is rivaled only by the greats-Steve Roach, Tangerine Dream and Vidna Obmana. The
atmospheric flow of this CD is dizzing. The heights achieved are in the clouds. With this CD,
Robert has three entries in 1999's top ten.--Jim Brenholts
