"Energy" is a CD with alot of drums and grooves. From electronica to rock to reflections of
Japanese taiko drums. If your into heavy drum rhythms then you'll really enjoy this CD.
This music uses analog synthesizer sounds mixed in with the wide digital sounds to create a
wall of sound that will engulf you. This CD covers alot of different styles and yet always
maintains the cutting edge of 90's electronic music. A CD that has the drums and rhythms
moving all around you. A very upbeat CD. |

Carty describes this as a spontaneous "jam" (as opposed to the contemporary work Himalayan
Dreams, which was "worked on"). But it seems whatever Carty touches turns to musical gold,
whether "worked on" or not. The new drum machine sound provides a steady, gentle "rock"
beat which gives wings to inspirational, innovative, spiritually-energizing melodies. "Moving
Toward You" seems a follow up both to "Within Love" (Horizon's Call) and "Well Being"
(Soulscape), though not a great as those two Carty classics. The whole disc further develops Carty's gentle
"rock" style, which has been evolving since his first album Soulscape.

"Energy" is a very appropriately titled album by Robert Carty. His energy is unbounded.
To quote Robert Rich, "I like his energy" Robert Carty's proliferation is self-evident. This CD
explores the depths of energetic-not-rhythmic-ambience. There is a self-generated electronic
rhythm. This is neither trip-hop nor minimalism. This is a happy space music. Robert builds walls
of electronic soundscapes on his synthesized percussion.
