This CD is laced with beautiful nature sounds, and lush synthesizers. The main sound is piano,
but the string sounds and other various electronic sounds really take you away, and yet the
constant nature sounds really keep you anchored. A very peaceful, beautiful CD, for those
times when you want to forget about the rat race.

This work is very ambient, in the sense that it is like sonic wallpaper and tends not to call
attention to itself while you are listening to it. Most melody lines, which remind me of those
in Silent Dreams, are formed by electric piano sounds that also seems a bit guitar, similar to
the sound of Nagual Heart. Everything sounds gorgeous as usual, though this work is not as
passionate in its expression as some of his others. Later tracks have an unusual, subdued,
"deep-twilight" sound. For the first time he hasn't tried to label each track with titles, but fallen
back to the classical practice of numbering them, which is probably more appropiate in this
case anyway. The last one may be my favorite..

"Gaia Interludes" is an intellectual album from ambient master Robert Carty. Gentle piano and
deep colorful synthesizers surround samples. This minimalist ambience walks the fine line
between new age nature sounds and electronica. In either category, it is a strong entry.
