This CD starts out with a deep boom! Sometimes dark and brooding, and at other times it is quite
beautiful. This is an excellent CD. Besides the great electronic sounds, this CD also has some very
unique rock samples and some ethereal vocals. The track Deep Contact takes the listener on a deep
earth rhythm ride. With each track being around 15:00 long, it gives one plenty of time to get lost in
the meditative quality of the music. Highly recommended.

Though similar to his "dark ambient" style on Darklight, I would rather call Microspirals a "deep
ambient" work, because it's not all dark. Carty reveals his deep, penetrating sensitivity to the
beauties of Mother Earth and the spiral nature of the Universe. Like Timeless, Microspirals has four
long, soothing and profound pieces. Dark and mysterious, track 1 has  beautiful voice tones at the
end. Track 2 and 3 start out with rather strange sounds that soon blend in with beautiful spacious
ambience. The last track is the most "touching."

Microspirals is a deeply introspective album from the creative genious of the newest ambient
master--Robert Carty. This ambient trance set is atmospheric, spacey, majestic, lush and mellow.
In short, it is a masterpiece. It is diffficult to choose a "best" Robert Carty CD. His diversity is the
utmost; his creativity is unquestionable, his depth is unfathomable. This CD aspires to-and reaches-
heights achieved by so few-Steve Roach and Meg Bowles come to mind. This is-by a hair-The top
pick of 1999. It stands alongside "Light Fantastic" and "From The Dark Earth" as 1999 highest
achievers.
