A CD that is mainly rock oriented electronic music. This music has reflections of the German
school sequenced music, and yet of course, it has Robert's special touch. From heavy
sequenced to floating space, this is a CD full of the analog sounds. If you enjoy the older
electronic music, then you'll enjoy this one.

Soulscape is quite similar to his follow-up work. Atmospheres, except that it contains more
obviously TD/Schulzian-style rhythms. Carty sometimes describes this earliest of his albums
as "rock", but it also has some spacey, floating pieces--one of them the title track which is
quite effective. Unlike his more mature works, Carty's Soulscape album is more melodic and
richly-produced orchestral electronic music than ambient--somewhat like works by O'Hearn,
early Arkenstone or 80's TDream; yet I think more original and emotionally engaging than those.
Its rock element is actually more gentle than in some later works by Carty such as Horizon's
Call or Light Dreaming.

"Soulscape" is soul music for the 1990's. This is one of Robert Carty's earliest CD's. It is
also one of his strongest efforts. This pleasant and dramatic set is playful. Robert toys with
the listeners, taking them to gentle relaxation zones within which are pockets of high-energy
soundscapes. This is space music soul. This is a soulful space music.
