REVIEWS
"Starlight Volume 3" is the final CD in this series. This is spacious space music. Full of emotion and
sonic drifts. Deep ambient sounds, desert crickets and frogs, and sonic winds. This is music for magical
nights of star gazing.
With this album, Robert Carty launches the third and last chapter in a trilogy of albums inspired by nights of star gazing.
Like the previous releases, the music is gentle, abundant and spacious, another true celebration of the world of wonder
that that can be seen up in the sky at night. The eight tracks nicely complement the lush, atmospheric and emotional
journeys explored on the former albums, tapping deep into a smooth pool of graceful and dreamy textures, together
making up a nice conclusion to the series. Those familiar with the other volumes can purchase “Starlight Volume 3†without hesitation.
The finale of Carty's wonderful set of three stargazing journeys, this music inspires us to look not
only "out into our Beautiful Universe," but like the other CDs of the series it takes us into our own
inner universe as well. It demonstrates how exploring the vast spaces of the sky through music is
emotionally healing for the listener. The entire CD does truly show how looking out in wonder into
the life of the cosmos brings us into greater touch with the depths of our own lives. This is a very
healing as well as vibrant work that embraces the listener in radiant "meteor showers" of love.
The odd-numbered tracks are the best in my opinion-- plus the last and greatest track "This Cosmic Life."
This final piece of the Starlight series envelopes the listener in the warmth of the universe. The
penultimate track 7, "Touching Comets," is also bright, warm and cosmic.
The entire Starlight set is Carty's best music of the New Millennium so far, and Volume 3 is an excellent
and fitting conclusion.
